Sunan Ampel mosque was built in 1421 by Raden Rahmatullah located on Ampel area, a part of Majapahit kingdom. Being noticed as one of the oldest mosques in Indonesia, Ampel mosque adopted an ancient Javanese architecture mixed with Arabian style. Situated in Ampel area, a largest Moslem area in Surabaya also famous with Kampung Arab, where visitors not only visit Ampel graveyard, but also enjoy the middle east culinary, stroll around old kampung, buy some souvenirs, and many more.
